February Events

Sunday, February 1, After 1st & 2nd Services – We Believe
Be a part of the launch of a denomination-wide expression of what we, as Unitarian Universalists, believe. On Sunday, Feb. 1, after each service, stop by the church library to tell us where you experience the divine or where you find beauty. A professional videographer will be here to record our statements; the finished videos will premiere in the spring. To learn more about the We Believe project, check out Jen Hayman’s Faithify pitch from last fall. And start thinking about what you believe. Questions? Contact Director of Music and Arts Jen Hayman.

Friday, February 6, 7:00 pm – First Friday Potluck
Please join us for a wonderful potluck dinner with a spiritual component! Thanks to Piper Mullins and Jenna Cameron for hosting at 1440 Fairmont St NW, Washington, DC. Please RSVP on Facebook and let us know what you’ll be bringing, and label your contribution for animal products, DNA, gluten, alcohol, and common allergens. Contact Jennifer Du Mond with any questions.

Saturday, February 7, 7:30 p.m. – Bokamoso Youth Foundation Concert and Fundraiser
Did you miss Bokamoso’s amazing performance on January 18 at All Souls? Wish that you had a chance to see them again before they head back to South Africa? Fear not! Join us on February 7 at GW’s Marvin Center 800 21st Street, NW for another great event! Tickets are $10 for students & seniors and $35 for adults, and can be purchased in advance here. Contact Vasu for more information.

Sunday, February 8, 12:45-1:25pm – WIN Next Steps Debrief, Planning, and Training
(All Souls Church, Eaton Room)
After a debrief and planning meeting to discuss the January WIN event, WIN leaders from other congregations will join us at All Souls for a training on the foundation on WIN’s model for building power–one-on-one meetings to build relationships with the other members of our Congregation. RSVP Now!

What’s a one-on-one meeting? Why is it so important? You can read more about this important organizing tool here: https://www.uua.org/documents/greenlouise/seeds_relationalorg.pdf.

Wednesday, February 11, 7:30 pm – Vespers
Come join other members of the All Souls community for a contemplative service with singing and silent meditation. Contact Cledwyn with any questions.

After the second service, meet the Young Souls in Pierce Hall to head over as a group. Or meet us there for brunch at 1:30 pm.  Please RSVP on Facebook to help us get a headcount (Link forthcoming).  Contact Jen Du Mond with any questions.

Sunday, February 22, After 1st & 2nd Services – About All Souls

Saturday, February 28, 4:00pm – Ordination of Abbey Tennis
Please join us in celebrating the ordination of Abbey Tennis! Those of you who have been here for a few years may recall Abbey Tennis, our Intern Minister who was very involved with the Young Souls program, created our Vespers program, and all-in-all formed quite a connection with All Souls. We’re thrilled that she’s chosen All Souls as her church of ordination, and hope that you’ll join us in the celebration! Contact Cledwyn with any questions.
