May Events

Saturday, May 2, 12pm – 8th Annual Tenant Town Hall
This Saturday, All Souls will be hosting the 8th Annual Tenant Town Hall! Join with renters from all over the city to make our voices heard about affordable housing. This is one of the biggest city-wide affordable housing events of the year, and it would be great to have a strong showing from those of us who call All Souls our spiritual home. Register via the sign-up link on Facebook, and contact Nick for more information.

Sunday, May 3, 10:45am – About All Souls
Learn and ask questions about Unitarian Universalism and All Souls Church. This informal session lasts about an hour, and meets in the Longfellow Room. No registration needed. Contact Vasu for more information.

Saturday, May 9, 9:00 a.m. – Church Council
Help represent the young souls at the Spring Church Council Meeting! Join other church leaders as we discuss the lay activities of the church, and help shape future plans. Contact Cledwyn for more information.

Sunday, May 10th, 3pm-6pm – Volunteer at Arcadia Farm
Join fellow Young Souls and get your hands dirty at Arcadia Farm. About 30 min outside of DC, Arcadia Farm is a small farm that runs primarily from volunteer work and supplies some local restaurants (Churchkey, Evening Star Cafe) and has a mobile produce truck that sells fresh food to low income areas. There’s a chance to get involved on Sundays from 3-6, with a potluck and drinks after. RSVP on Facebook, and contact Lindsay for more information.

Wednesday, May 13, 7:30 p.m. – Vespers
Come join other members of the All Souls community for a contemplative service with singing and silent meditation. Contact Cledwyn with any questions.

Friday, May 15th, 7:00 p.m. – Young Souls “End of the Year” Party!
Join your fellow Young Souls as we celebrate another year together and elect board members for the upcoming year. Feel free to bring a beverage of your preference, and food if you’d like, though, we’ll be supplying some basics. Please RSVP on Facebook, and thanks to Jen Du Mond for hosting; you can also contact her for more information!

Saturday, May 16, 8:30 p.m. – Square Dancing at St. Stephen’s
Join fellow young souls, and hundreds of others, for what has been described by a wiser soul than us as, “literally the best $5 BYOB no-pressure-trad-hippie dance party that you will find around. Ability to count to 8 while walking in a left-right pattern is welcomed but not required.” RSVP on Facebook at their event page, and contact Cledwyn with any questions.

Sunday, May 24, 1:00 p.m. – Brunch at Location TBD
After the second service, meet the Young Souls in Pierce Hall to head over as a group. Or meet us at the to-be-determined location for brunch at 1:00 pm.  Please RSVP on Facebook to help us get a headcount. Contact Jen Du Mond with any questions.

Sunday, May 24, 8:00pm – Memorial Day Concert
Join your fellow Young Souls in enjoying the free Memorial Day concert on the Mall. RSVP on Facebook and watch the event for additional details.

Friday, May 29-Sunday, May 31 – Weekend on the Bay
Join a couple hundred members of All Souls at Camp Tockwogh on the Chesapeake Bay May 29th-31st! Hiking, swimming, bonfires, workshops, and stronger connections with your fellow congregants are all on the agenda; it’s one of the best ways to deepen your involvement with the community, and we usually have a good cadre of Young Souls attending.
