Friday, August 5th, 7pm – Young Souls August Potluck

Join us for our monthly Young Souls potluck! These monthly potlucks are a great way to meet other Young Souls in a fun and friendly environment. Looking forward to seeing you there! RSVP on Facebook here.

Saturday, August 6th 10am – 4pm – Deep Canvas for Racial Justice

Join Showing Up for Racial Justice as they go door to door to talk with white people about racial justice. This is a critical long-term strategy that will help us move thousands of people to join the movement. Questions? Other deep canvassing dates are: Sunday August 14th, 1-7pm and Saturday August 20th, 10am-4pm.

Sunday, August 7th, 10:15 – Young Souls Service

It only happens every few years, but your fellow Young Souls will be participating in a sermon with the luminous Reverend Susan. Come and hear what your YS pals have to say about “letting go” or join the conversation yourself as we sketch out drafts of attempted quarter life wisdom.

Thursday, August 11th, 6pm – YS Social Justice Task Force Meeting

Come join the YS Social Justice Task Force for a discussion of upcoming social justice events at the church and in our area. We’ll be meeting at All Souls (room TBD). New members and regular members always welcome.

Saturday, August 13th, 12pm – 4pm – The Tournament of Games

An annual tradition where neighbors, including ASC members, gather with residents of Columbia Heights Village in a social setting.The Tournament of Games will be held from 12-4 at the Girard Street Park (14th & Girard Street NW).

Sunday, August 21st, Noon – Young Souls Brunch

Join us on August 21st at Noon for our monthly Young Souls brunch! We’ll meet in Pierce Hall after service and walk over as a group to Meridian Pint (3400 11th St NW) for an afternoon of great food and friends. RSVP on Facebook here.

Wednesday, August 24, 7pm – Free Outdoor Concert at the Strathmore

Sammy Miller and The Congregation, a jazz big band, is playing a free outdoor concert at the Strathmore (10701 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD 20852). We’ll have a blanket, food, and drinks. Feel free to stop by anytime. The Strathmore is a short walk from the Grosvenor Metro. RSVP on Facebook here.

Sunday, September 4, 8 pm – Labor Day Capitol Concert

The National Symphony Orchestra is playing a free Labor Day Concert (the night before 🙂 on the Capitol West Lawn. We’ll stake out a spot at 4pm but feel free to stop by anytime. We’ll have blankets, snacks, drinks, and board games. RSVP on Facebook here.

Mondays – Young Souls Classic Movie Night

Every Monday watch a critically acclaimed film. Popcorn and a movie inspired cocktail will be served. Showtime is at 7:30pm.

Thursdays – Young Souls Book Club

The YS Book Club will read a selection of short stories/articles/poems in August. The YS book club meets every Thursday at 7:30pm.
