Classic Movie Mondays

From classic movies like Singing in the Rain, to lesser known ones like Tokyo Story, Classic Movie Mondays covers a wide array of genres. It began at the beginning of this year as a Classic Movie Night to watch “The Top 50 Greatest Films of All Time” according to Sight and Sound International Film Magazine. It has now evolved to include more recent films, such as Spotlight and the Ides of March. “Watching movies while hanging out with friends is always a great way to begin your week,” says Classic Movie Monday co-organizer Reeve Tyndall.

Watching Elf for Classic Movie Monday, December 2016

Reeve co-hosts the movie night along with Beth Conlin. They both alternate host locations at their apartments in Logan Circle and U Street neighborhood. With a gathering of usually about five to seven people, the crowd includes a mix of movie buffs and others just interested in one particular film. To celebrate the holidays, they watched Miracle on 34th Street and Elf the past few weeks. This event is co-hosted with Young Souls and Souls in the Center and is a great opportunity to meet others in both groups. Selection of films are based upon both host and viewer suggestion. So if you’re a movie buff or looking to meet more Young Souls and Souls in the Center in a smaller setting, check out Classic Movie Mondays.
