Saturday, February 11th – Sunday, February 12th – Mass Moral March in Raleigh
Rev. Barber of the NAACP/NC has called on all who support voting rights and equal justice to converge in Raleigh. The Reeb Voting Rights Project’s response is clear: we must walk in the footsteps of James Reeb and ensure that the spirit of Selma lives on! The struggle against voter suppression and other anti-democratic movements in NC rages on, and they need our support now more than ever. Our sister congregation, Eno River UU in Durham, is opening their homes to us once again for lodging, and the Reeb Project is arranging transportation. Click here to register.
Sunday, February 12th, 12:45pm – Young Souls “Right Fit”’ Events Discussion + Ideation
12:45pm. Only 17% of Young Souls think our mix of activities is juuuuust right, so… room for growth! We need YOUR ideas! Come chat, brainstorm, eat food, relax. Top requests were more events that are: #1 small, #2 cultural, #3 intellectual, and #4 sporty/active. What events should we throw? Should we encourage YS members to organize more informal events? Please direct questions to Annika Brink. Location: All Souls, Eaton Room. Bringing a contribution of food is encouraged (fruit, snacks, etc), and other light refreshments will be available. We’ll have a “right fit” events discussion followed by open ideation on any topic relevant to Young Souls. RSVP on Facebook here.

Thursdays – Young Souls Book Club
In February the Young Souls Book Club will read Wonder by R.J. Palacio. Check out this Washington Post article that explains why Wonder should be the one novel that the entire country should read: “The lesson from this book is that we should always choose to be more kind than is necessary. It isn’t just that we should choose kindness, but we should be more kind than we have to be.” The YS book club meets every Thursday at 7:30pm. For more information, contact Reeve.
Young Souls March Circle Suppers – Looking for hosts!
January Circle Suppers were a success! We had a total of 70 Young Souls attend 10 Circle Suppers. It was a great way to spend time with other Young Souls in a smaller setting. Thank you to the hosts for hosting such wonderful dinners! Since this was so much fun, we’ll be having Young Souls Circle Suppers again in March. Interested in hosting a Circle Supper in March? Contact YS Communications Chair, Justine Rothbart. Once we have a list of hosts, keep an eye out on the listserv for more information about how to sign up to attend. Take a look at the photos on the Young Souls Blog and Facebook.
Young Souls Spiritual Engagement
Curious about digging deeper into what it means to be human? Looking for some silence in the madness of this temporary experience? Interested in helping organize interfaith visits? Have questions on how to grow your individual or community-supported spiritual life or ideas on how Young Souls can better support you? We’ve got questions too, and we’d love to hear your ideas. Let’s talk them over together and put a couple into fruition. Contact Laura.
All Souls Database – Sign up today!
All Souls is creating a database to track participation in church events. Signing up for this database has numerous advantages for individuals (including easy access to church information, room requests, and calendars) and also for Young Souls (in showing the church just how active we are and utilizing it to track and organize things for our own purposes). Regardless of whether you are a member of the church or not, you are encouraged to create a profile on the database which can be found here. If you have any questions, feel free to email Ben Whelan-Morin.
