Young Souls March Circle Suppers – Sign up here!
Circle suppers are back! In 2018 the Young Souls Circle Suppers will be organized quarterly. These are wonderful events for newcomers to meet fellow Young Souls in smaller settings. Friday, March 2nd, 7pm – Young Souls March Potluck
Join us for our monthly Young Souls potluck! Potlucks are held at a home of one of our members and is a great event for newcomers. Please bring a dish or drink to share with everyone. Sunday, March 11th, 1- 3pm – All Souls Church Council Congregational-Led Meeting
Please save the date so you can attend this important congregational discussion about the events surrounding Rev. Susan Newman Moore’s departure. The purpose of this meeting is to provide space for discussion in a lay-led congregational setting about what happened The agenda is not yet set in stone. Alice Goldberg (YS Board President) sits on the Church Council, a body of church committee lay-leaders, and is contributing to the creation of the agenda. Please contact Alice Goldberg if you have questions about the purpose of this meeting or have suggestions for items that you would like to be addressed in the agenda.
Wednesday, March 14th, 5:30pm – Young Souls Happy Hour
Join us for our monthly happy hour! This is an excellent event for newcomers to attend and meet other Young Souls. Local 16 donates 10% of our checks back to All Souls. Wednesday, March 21st, 6:30pm – Young Souls UU Principles Discussion Group
Have you ever wanted to know more about the Principles of Unitarian Universalism? Every third Wednesday of the month we will gather to discuss these basic tenants of the Unitarian Universalist faith. We’ll talk about the actual language of the principle, historical UU perspectives, and our own experiences in relation to the month’s principle. On Wednesday, March 21st, we will cover the 7th principle: “Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.” Snacks and, friendship will be provided. All are welcome, and those who are either new to the community or excited about the faith are especially encouraged to come. Bring your curiosity and join us as we delve into this intentional exploration of UU beliefs! Location: Shaw (Watha T. Daniel) Neighborhood Library- 1630 7th St NW, Washington, DC 20001. Thursdays – Young Souls Book Club
In March the Young Souls Book Club will read The Dorito Effect: The Surprising New Truth About Food and Flavor by Mark Schatzker, “a lively and important argument from an award-winning journalist proving that the key to reversing America’s health crisis lies in the overlooked link between nutrition and flavor.” YS Book Club meets every Thursday at 7:30pm. You could write about a Young Souls event, an All Souls event, or any other topic!
