Monday, May 20th, 7:00 – 9:00 – Many Voices Reading Group — DATE CHANGE FROM MAY 13th!

Each month, a group of Young Souls gathers to talk about a short story. During May, we’ll read an early Afrofuturist story: W.E.B. Du Bois’ “The Comet,” about the only two survivors of a comet that hit NYC. The story’s about race and religion, and is a super interesting and very early (1920!) sci-fi piece. The story is available here in text form, and an audio version is available here. Please RSVP here or by email to, just so we have a sense of how many people are coming. We’ll meet at Neil’s place (check the YS listserv for address). Feel free (but not obligated) to bring snacks/drinks, and newcomers are always welcome!

Tuesday, May 21st, 5:30 pm- Happy Hour with Rev. Rebecca

Did you know that Rev. Rebecca Parker is the official staff liaison for young souls?! Come, have a drink and celebrate all of her support. We will be meeting at All Souls Bar (3125, 725 T St NW, Washington, DC 20001) and will order pizza  from the restaurant next door. Facebook event here. Questions? Contact Claire at

Invitation to join the Young Souls POC Caucus

The YS POC Caucus was founded early in 2018, in recognition of the need for a Young Soul POC space. They are currently opening the group to new YS POC members! The caucus is a chance for people of color in our community to gather for fun activities (dinner parties, game nights, book circles etc.) or more serious conversations (discussions on making All Souls an inclusive and affirming space etc.). If you are interested in joining, fill out this form and a member of the caucus will reach out to you. Please feel free to email us ( or Alice Newberry (, a founding member of the caucus and former YS Social Justice Chair, if you have any questions!
