We are actively seeking new board members to fill out our ranks for the 2024-25 board year. You can learn more about the 7 positions on the Young Souls board here.

Potlucks are a great opportunity for newcomers and longtime members alike to gather so please come on out, bring a dish or drink, and have a great time with fellow young souls. If there is interest, we can hold a moment of reflection and sharing, as well.

Fellowship and Discussion Group: Intentional Community – Tuesday, April 23 at 7:00 PM

Modern American society is often hyper fixated on productivity, wealth, and the acquisition of money and power, so much so that we often lose sight of other people in search of these things rather than trying intentionally to be in community with each other. How do we balance our individual needs and desires with the value of building Beloved Community? Come for a friendly discussion on how to build and maintain intentional community. Snacks to share are appreciated!

Volunteering with Food Justice DMV – Thursday, April 25th from 5:45pm-8:00 PM

Young Souls will have a regular volunteering slot on fourth Thursdays with Food Justice DMV! Join us as we pack boxes of food and essentials and help load fresh produce for our asylum-seeking and undocumented neighbors.

Voter Mobilization Organizing School – Saturday, April 27th from 10:00am-3:00 PM

The Organizing School will be a chance to gather in-person at All Souls for spiritual grounding, relationship building, and skills training – all towards the goal of engaging as many people as possible in the 2024 elections – at local, state, and national levels. Join The Reeb Project, The League of Women Voters of DC, UUs for Social Justice (UUSJ), and UU the Vote as we build a region-wide, collective effort for 2024!

Registration is on a sliding scale with a light breakfast, full lunch, and snacks provided.Click here to register.

The Times They Are A-Changin’ Music Festival Concert – Saturday, April 27th at 4:00 PM

We live in challenging times, and raising our voices together feels more important than ever. How do we breathe new life into familiar songs of change to meet this moment? How can both sacred and secular music inform this dialog? How do we invite our congregations and audiences into the song? Join Matt and Adam Podd (The Podd Brothers) and guest vocalist Kiena Williams for an evening of exploration of various American musical traditions (including gospel, jazz, pop, folk, and classical) and consider how by changing our musical approach, we might make our music a reflection of the change we hope to see and be in our world. This is a 4pm concert that is open to the public, organized by All Souls’ own interim Director of Music Keith Arnold and will feature UU singers from around the DC metro area at All Souls. (A free will offering will be taken to support this work.)

Readers for Relief Used Book Sale, Pt. 2 – Sunday, April 28th at 11:45 AM

We are capitalizing on our unexpected success to hold a Part 2 of Readers for Relief! Young Souls invites the All Souls community to a used book sale in Pierce Hall during coffee hour after service. All funds raised will be donated to Medical Aid for Palestinians. Unsold books will be donated to Turning the Page. To donate gently used books of any genre, bring yours to the event or contact Toni Lewis to arrange pickup: tdl28@georgetown.edu or 336-402-9754.

UU Young Adults for Climate Justice (UUYACJ) Movement Training workshop series

UU Young Adults for Climate Justice (UUYACJ) is hosting its third annual Movement Training workshop series! This workshop series seeks to support, resource, and empower young adults in their activism and organizing. Over the course of four Saturdays, participants will gain skills and knowledge relevant to all movements, such as how to build deep relationships, crafting direct actions, incorporating art, and using herbalism to care for ourselves and each other. Each of the workshops are individually amazing, but the series together imparts a comprehensive understanding of how we build sustainable justice movements and provides resources to take care of each other through it. You can attend just one, or all of them!

These live, virtual workshops are open to all young adults (ages 18-35). These workshops will be happening every Saturday in April on Zoom. They’ll start at 12pm PT/ 1pm MT/ 2pm CT/ 3pm ET, lasting for an hour and a half. Register ahead of time for the workshops at bit.ly/YACJMovementTrainings
