Monthly Post-Service Brunch – Sunday, December 3rd at 12:30 pm

Get together for brunch after service at Purple Patch! Meet on the steps outside the sanctuary at All Souls after service and walk over together.

Barbie Movie Night – Saturday, December 9th at 7:30 PM

Hi Barbie! Want to relive the year’s biggest hit (or finally get the memes if you missed it)? In honor of fellow Sacramenten UU Greta Gerwig, join me (Charlotte Selton) for a “Barbie” watchparty! Themed attire is welcomed as are fun snacks or beverages.

Happy Hour – Wednesday, December 13th at 5:30 PM

Join us for a happy hour ahead of All Souls’ monthly candlelit, music-filled Vespers service.

🎶🕯🎶

Arrive at Wonderland Ballroom at 5:30 or whenever you can, and we’ll walk to the church together for the 7:30pm service. Happy Hour at Wonderland Ballroom lasts until 6:30pm.

Potluck – Friday, December 15th at 7:00 PM

Potlucks are a great opportunity for newcomers and longtime members alike to gather so please come on out, bring a dish or drink, and have a great time with fellow young souls. If there is interest, we can hold a moment of reflection and sharing, as well.

There are 4 steps to get into the home and there is a bathroom on the ground floor. My home is a 1/2 mile walk from both the Shaw and NoMa metro stations and stops for the 90, 92, 96, and G2 buses are 2 blocks away. There is also plentiful street parking. I will send out my address to attendees a few days prior.

Ice Skating at the Sculpture Garden – Saturday, December 16th at 3:00-3:45 PM

Weather permitting. Come ice skate at the Sculpture Garden in DC. Fees for adults are $13. Fees cover two back-to-back, 45-minute skating sessions that each begin on the hour. Ice maintenance happens the last 15 minutes of each hour. The last full session begins two hours before closing.

Langar at Sikh Gurdwara DC – Sunday, December 17th at 1:30 PM

Come to 3801 Massachusetts Ave NW to join in the Sikh Gurdwara DC’s weekly langar meal, a free meal that is open to all! One of the key practices of Sikh charity is that gurdwaras, or Sikh houses of worship, are also free kitchens that serve vegetarian food traditional to the Punjab region of India and Pakistan, not because vegetarianism is a tenet of Sikhism, but so that the kitchens can be accessible to all! Come learn about Sikh philosophy and practices while participating in a beautiful community tradition that is centuries old.

Customs for gurdwaras:

-People of all genders must cover their heads, so bring a head scarf (but they will also have some on hand)

-Remove your shoes

-Do not bring tobacco, drugs, or alcohol

-Wash your hands

-Donations are not required or even expected, but they are appreciated

-Come with an open heart

Happy (early) Solstice, All Souls! – Wednesday, December 20th at 7-8:30 PM

For this Welcoming Wednesday, join Rev. Bill Sinkford for a solstice celebration and bonfire! Rev. Bill and Keith Arnold will lead attendees in a small solstice service honoring the beginning of winter, then we will head to the terrace for a (small and contained) bonfire and smores, and hot chocolate in the lobby.

Volunteering with Food Justice DMV – Thursday, December 28th from 5:45pm-8:00pm

Young Souls will have a regular volunteering slot on fourth Thursdays with Food Justice DMV! Join us as we pack boxes of food and essentials and help load fresh produce for our asylum-seeking and undocumented neighbors.
